Known as Southern Femisphere, the name makes perfect sense for this band made up of two ladies, and one gent from Charleston, South Carolina. However, making sense of the lyrics is like trying to decipher hieroglyphics. An eyeball-less cat, named Gossamer (also the title of one of their songs) is one of their influences, along with Virginia Woolf, mountains, and mantis shrimp, according to their facebook page. Quite the smorgasbord of influences if you ask us. If that doesn’t convince you, then ask yourself “Am I happy? Am I getting the most out of life?” If you aren’t taking up the chance to come see Southern Femisphere perform at the Indie Grits Festival, then the diagnosis is a resounding ‘no’. Don’t do that to yourself. You deserve to be happy! Check out these bad mammajamma’s become part of the femisphere.
