Orphan Film Ist was born from Professor Dan Streible’s Spring 2006 Orphan Film and Preservation class at the University of South Carolina.  The idea was to create a documentary about the Orphan Film Symposium as a way of better understanding Orphan film while capturing the excitement and personality of Orphan film scholars and enthusiasts – appropriately called Orphanistas.
