Meet The Jurors: Roger Beebe

Posted: 11:06 AM

We're really excited about this year's festival jurors.  In addition to granting the awards, each juror will also be presenting his/her work during the festival.  We'll be spotlighting each of them here, beginning today with Roger Beebe.

Roger Beebe is a professor of film and media studies at the University of Florida.  His work has been shown around the globe at such unlikely venues as McMurdo Station in Antarctica and the CBS Jumbotron in Times Square and at more likely ones such as the Museum of Modern Art, Anthology Film Archives, and the Pacific Film Archive as well as at numerous festivals including Ann Arbor, NY Underground, Sundance, the Images Festival, the European Media Arts Festival, and the International Film Festival Rotterdam.  From 1997-2000 he ran Flicker, a bi-monthly festival of small gauge film in Chapel Hill, NC, and he is currently artistic director of FLEX, the Florida Experimental Film/Video Festival.

We happen to be big fans of Roger and his work.
